Sourcing fibre from established farmer cooperatives, morah bales are quality control hackled to remove root stock, gummy tops and major impurities. An additional control follows with hand pickers removing remaining defects.
Inspected filaments proceed to batching using locally produced Vitamin A & D fortified soya bean oil selected for its non–rancidity, and the dosing blended specifically for our unique production through a multiple–pass operation before forced piling to generate the required temperature for rapid softening to avoid bacteria.
Compliant filaments are then spun to 15lb jute count single–ply yarn before being treated, polished and finished using only 100% natural plant–based mediums.
Our resulting yarn is then twisted to strands and rope on dedicated machinery designed explicitly for fine jute fibre.
KOUMANAWA rope is a soft, stable and consistent high–quality product with a superb feel, low fibre loss, hairiness and nap, and high wear abrasion.
To complete our KOUMANAWA eco–friendly products, all our packaging avoids the use of plastics.
